Professor Fazlollah Reza
Last week, I had a great opportunity of meeting a wonderful man whom I dreamed of meeting once and has been among few people I have inspired by. Professor Fazlollah Reza, born in 1915 (Rasht, Iran), graduated in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tehran (Fanni) in 1938. Eight years later, he received the MSc degree from the University of Columbia followed by a PhD from New York Technical Institute 1950. Then, he started his career in teaching at various universities such as MIT and McGill. After a few years he went back to Iran and was elected as the Chancellor of the University of Tehran and Sharif University of Technology (called Aryamehr before Islamic revolution). Iranian Government introduced him as the Iranian ambassador in UNESCO and also Iranian Embassy in Ottawa, Canada. He has been living in Ottawa since the Islamic Revolution.

Apart from the scientific aspects of his personality, he is in love with Persian culture and literature and has published several books and papers about Khayam, Ferdosi and Molana.
In our meeting, what do you think that he mentioned as the first advice to us? "Keep ties with your culture wherever you go" he said and followed "Help your people in any occasion you can". That was the main point of a 90 year old man.
I think I got some super-energy from this man to continue from here :)
