Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad submitted the new Iranian year's budget bill to the parliament last Sunday, Jan. 21. During his description of the details inside the budget, a discussion happened between the president and some Parliament members. You will find a translation of that part as follow:
"I have noticed someone has said the price of tomato has raised up to 1200 Tomans* and asked me 'how do you say we have controlled the inflation?' " said Mr. Ahmadinejad, when he was interrupted by some audience shouting "It is 3000 Tomans!". Mr President surprisingly replied "3000 Tomans?!! Come and buy from my neighbourhood market place. Why do you buy it from expensive shops?" and then he laughed.
This is the way that a President cares about the life of the people and shows his responsibility!
* 900 Tomans = 1 US Dollar. The average income of an Iranian family is around 200,000 Tomans per month.
