Let me not forget the day when we first met
The time we first shared, the words we learned to say,
It was a morning in July, warm, sunny and wet
Young and pure we were, so long was our life's way!

Ah, many days went and yet friends we remained
Loads of smiles we exchanged, sweet, kind and loyal
We promised for our hearts could never be chained,
This way the friendship we made, it made us both royal.

To me your words did sing, in you my looks did rise,
Within our minds and in our hearts we made friendship grow.
Always true and fine, we never were in disguise;
Can you see now how our gone days do with pride glow.

Oh! What a pity! Time goes and will never be back,
you know! Never let I my mind forget our friendship's attack!
